Jun’ichi Ito is a Japanese architect based in Tokyo.
Since founding Jun’ichi Ito Architect & Associates in 2002, his practice has developed architectural works that explore the relationship between ways of living, human distance, institutions, and the memory of place.
His work seeks to give form to spaces where people can live with autonomy, dignity, and a quiet sense of belonging.
He received his MFA from Tokyo University of the Arts and his Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Tokyo. His practice is accompanied by research and teaching activities at Chiba University and Politecnico di Milano.
